George Clooney has hit out at Donald Trump’s criticism of the so-called “coastal elite” in a scathing rant, telling the president “f*** you.”
The US actor dismissed President Trump’s frequent rants about Hollywood stars, including Meryl Streep, who criticised his presidency and election campaign.
In an interview promoting new movie Suburbicon, with the Daily Beast, he said: “I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door-to-door. I sold ladies’ shoes. I worked at an all-night liquor store.
“So this idea that I’m somehow the “Hollywood elite” and this guy who takes a s*** in a gold toilet is somehow the man of the people is laughable.”

Taking a further swipe at the former businessman’s lavish lifestyle, the 56-year-old added: “Who lives in a bigger bubble? He lives in a gold tower.
“I just look at it and I laugh when I see him say ‘Hollywood elite.’
“Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! F*** you!”
Donald Trump says NFL players disrespecting the flag should be fired
The Tomorrowland star also hit out at Trump’s handling of riots in Charlottesville.
He said: “If I was President of the United States and David Duke is praising me and the white nationalists were talking about how I was on their side, the first thing I would do is I would come out and say ‘f*** these guys. Anyone who believes this is not in my camp, I don’t believe it, and I completely reject it’.
“It’s the simplest thing in the world in politics: ‘Nazis bad.’ It really doesn’t get any easier than that.”
The comments came as Trump called on fans to boycott NFL games amid claims players who kneel during the national anthem “disrespecting our flag and country.”
